The start of year five with a Hobonichi Techo. Here's to new potential.

This year I ordered a yellow cover, but I was disappointed that I couldn't see the beautiful detail on the cover on cover. I tried watercoloring a sheet to put under it. I'm not completely sold on the busyness but it is pretty.

This morning my watermelon socks came to hand, so I cheerfully pulled on a red shirt and a green sweater and scarf...only to realize that some might interpret my color choices as owing to some other kind of upcoming festivity.

This morning I came out to a windshield that had beautifully captured that change in weather.

Because technology is by its nature abstract, the way that we think about these abstractions has a direct impact on how it is created and implemented. I created this video to walk through how metaphors impact technology on the levels of students, teachers, and in the big picture. Hopefully, this will provide some food for thought for those creating and using technology, both inside and outside the classroom.
